Erin Kelly
Biography
Erin is a trained psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and clinical consultant based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She currently holds an independent clinical license (LCSW) in the states of Colorado and Pennsylvania. Erin received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology from Saint Vincent College in 2010 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. As a graduate of The Institute for Creative Mindfulness EMDR Therapy Training Program, Erin is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and an EMDR training facilitator. Erin is also a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) through the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA). They also have completed yoga teacher trainings at two institutes, most recently with Susanna Barkataki’s Embody Yoga’s Roots YTT 300. As a white, queer, and neurodivergent provider, Erin aims to decolonize their therapeutic approaches as much as possible, while still currently holding state licensure—it’s a work in progress!
Clinically, Erin frequently blends psychotherapeutic modalities with the arts and holistic practices to empower clients to discover their own healing paths. In session, Erin focuses on building a relationship with each client and collaborating every step of the way. If you’re looking for a directive therapist who is going to tell you what to do, Erin is not it! They view the healing process as complex, messy, beautiful, frustrating, and liberating.
Erin specializes in PTSD/complex trauma, dissociation, anxiety, panic, and stress-related disorders. Erin primarily works with survivors of sexual violence, as well as individuals from LGBTQIA2S+, neurodivergent, kink, sex work, and poly/ENM communities.
Past clinical experiences include community mental health, sexual assault crisis center, court-ordered outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, individual and group outpatient therapy for mental health, psychoeducational groups for dual diagnoses (mental health and substance use), and crisis management. She has experience working with clients ages 5 through adulthood. A current doctoral student at California Institute of Integral Studies in the Transformative Studies Department, Erin is also exploring components of humility and vulnerability in healing relationships. She is a huge proponent of psychotherapists engaging in their own therapeutic work and values authenticity in the therapeutic relationship.
